Why trips are the hardest thing to split
On a trip, everyone pays for something different on a different day. One person books the hotel, another covers fuel, someone pays for a round of chai at a dhaba, and the cab driver gets paid in cash by whoever had change. By the end nobody can say who is ahead. OweMe turns that scatter into a single group ledger so the trip ends with one short list of payments.
Create the trip once, add as you go
Make a group for the trip and add everyone. Each time someone pays, they add the expense, choose who it covers and how to divide it. Equal works for a shared cab. Exact amounts work for a dinner where people ordered differently. Item by item works when the bill has a long list and you want each person to pay for what they actually had. Snap the receipt so the proof stays with the entry.
Settle with the fewest payments
If six friends owe each other money in a tangle, the obvious way is a dozen small transfers. OweMe works out the smallest set of payments that clears everyone, often just a few transfers in total. Each person sees exactly who to pay and how much, and can pay by UPI straight from the app, so the group does not wait for the one friend who always forgets.
Keep it fair when plans change
People leave early, join late, skip the expensive day. Leave them out of the expenses they did not share rather than pretending everything was equal. Trip mode with a budget pool is useful when the group puts money in up front and spends from it. When the trip is over, share the final summary in the group chat and everyone has the same numbers.
