Weddings involve many wallets

A wedding in the family or friend circle is rarely paid for by one person. Siblings, cousins and friends contribute to the venue, the decor, the transport, the gifts and the many small last minute expenses. Without a shared record it is hard to tell who has put in how much, and the awkward conversations tend to arrive at the worst time.

One group, many categories

Create a group for the wedding and add each contributor. Record every expense with a category such as catering, travel, gifts or decoration, so you can see where the money is going at a glance. Split by percentage when the contributions are agreed in proportion, or by exact amount when each person covers a specific item.

Keep a clear trail

Every entry can have a receipt photo, a note and a date. If a vendor asks for a payment record or a family member wants to see what has been spent so far, you can export the full ledger to Excel or PDF instead of searching through chats. That transparency prevents misunderstandings later.

Close it out properly

After the wedding, review the totals, settle the differences by UPI and archive the group. The record stays available if you ever need it, and everyone knows that the books are closed fairly.
